Call for Submissions

All spaces, whether academic, artistic, non-profit, or collective in nature carry with them invisible boundaries. Expected behaviors, policies, curricula, presentations, and even silences. These expectations, although invisible, carry with them tremendous power, and arguably keep these spaces from reaching their full potential as healthy, thriving communities. With this conference, we strive to create space to make these invisible boundaries visible.

We invite you to submit proposals for scholarly zine projects that address the invisible expectations that are prevalent in the information, academic, non-profit, collective, and artistic spaces you occupy.

Proposals should include a 300–500-word project abstract that covers both what issue your project will address and what form your project will take. Although it may change down the road, please try to give us a sense of formatting choices that will affect printing costs. The proposals will be assessed on the bases of intellectual and aesthetic merit as well as the viability of the creation of the physical object.

Please send proposals to invisiblezines@gmail.com.
